Is wheel alignment essential?
It is not unusual for your rear or front wheels to gradually move out of perfect alignment over time, and it is recommended that you have them checked on a regular basis, often at the same time as a service.

Does wheel misalignment make noise?
Not directly. However, the damage that to your tyres caused by wheel misalignment can lead to strange noises coming from your wheels.
Does Wheel Misalignment damage my tyres?
Yes, if the toe or camber alignment is off, uneven or feathered tyre wear is almost a guarantee. If you visit our Glasgow tyre shop early enough, we may be able to fix the issue before irreversible damage is done and the wheel needs to be replaced.
What is Camber?
Camber refers to the tilt of the wheel set by the manufacturer during production. Positive camber means the top of the tyre is tilted slightly inwards whilst negative camber is tilted slightly outwards.
The camber does not need to be 0 for the vehicle to roll straight and manufacturers vary the camber depending on what they are looking for in terms of cornering performance. However, if the camber moves outside the manufacturers range, issues will occur and realignment is needed.
What is toe?
Like camber, toe alignment can be set slightly positive or negative by the manufacturer. However, when calibrated correctly, it will be zero degrees once the wheel is on the road.
